(Cold Climate Version) |
Ten years ago I made my first Kit Bash with the GM-D resin conversion kit released by B-club for 0080:War in the Pocket. Today, 10 years later, I revisit the GM-D conversion to see how far my skills have come. You can compare the original GM-D to the newer version seen here. To start I made the following changes. Since the original GM-D was based on the 1979 version of the RX-78 Gundam, I decided to base my new version on the current, modernized version of the RX-78 Gundam. So to reflect this I barrowed the thruster pack, shield, beam sabers, and round joint detail on the knee and elbow joints from an FG RX-78. Next, I took a copy I made of the original resin GM-D head and hollowed it out with a dremel so I could fit the clear green eye piece from the 0080 GM kit into the resin head. And lastly, I made a copy of the cockpit hatch cover from a resin GM-C
from 0083 to bring this 'modernized' version in sync with it contemporaries.
