I was so excited when I heard that Bandai was doing (HG) versions of
the mecha from the classic older series 'Aura Battler Dunbine'. Sadly the
1/72 scale kit really isn't (HG) quality at all. The plastic on plastic
joints , especially at the elbows, do not hold at all. And the fore arms
fell off several times while taking these photos. Also the rubber piping
that attaches at the shoulder was dry rotted in the box when I got the
kit so I had to replace them with wire.
Aside from the above the kit does have excellent proportions, and will pose nicely, but I recommend replacing the elbow joints. This was also my first and probably last experiment with Mr. Color Laquers. I'll take my water base acrylics back any day. |
